The evaluation of operation outcomes for transposition of the great arteries in the Shahid Madani Heart Hospital among 2013-2018
Abstract
The purpose of this study was the evaluation of operation outcomes for transposition of the great arteries in the Shahid Madani Heart Hospital among 2013-2018Methods and Materials:In a retrospective cross-sectional study, the records of patients undergoing surgery at Shahid Madani Hospital were studied. Checklist information including all demographic information such as age, gender, weight, and echocardiographic findings, prostaglandin E intake, ICU length of stay, number and amount of inotropes received, duration of mechanical ventilation Operation, mortality, etc. were collected and analyzed using SPSS software.Results: 23 (57.5%) were male and 17 (42.5%) female. The mean age in the studied cases was 0.509 0.335 years. The average weight in our sample was 1636.29 4252.75 gr. The mean EF was 12.44 43.75% . 77.5% of patients had ASD, with 25% having severe ASD. 67.5% of patients had VSD 45% of patients had PDA. There was a strong significant correlation between EF, survival (P = 0.001) and also a moderate negative correlation between days of mechanical ventilation with survival and a positive relationship between VSD size and survival (P = 0.001).
