Abstract
Introduction: Laryngeal tumors, like other areas of the body, are either benign or malignant. Laryngeal cancer is one of the types of throat cancer that affects the patient's larynx. The larynx is where you can make your own sounds, or in other words, the body's sound box, which contains the muscles and muscles that make it possible to talk. Therefore, symptoms of laryngeal cancer can damage the patient's voice and may spread throughout the body if not treated immediately. Genetics and the environment play a major role in this disease, although environmental factors are more prominent than genetic factors. Environmental changes will eventually lead to a genetic change that will lead to cell death. Expression of microRNAs, miR-506, and miR-378 are important genes involved in cancer. In this study, changes in the relative expression levels of these genes during carcinogenesis were analyzed and the relative expression changes of these genes were evaluated. Methods: During the surgical procedure of patients with laryngeal carcinoma, a set of 20 serum and serum samples of normal subjects were collected. After extraction of total RNA, Real-time PCR was used to measure gene expression changes. P value <0.05 was considered significant. results: The relative expression level of miR506 in cancer samples was significantly decreased compared to healthy samples. MiR378 expression was also significantly increased in cancer samples compared to healthy samples. Conclusion: Our findings showed that the relative expression of the two miR378 and miR506 genes studied could be used as a diagnostic or precursor biomarker in laryngeal cancer
