Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the levels of has-miR-139-5p, has-miR-1299 and miR-146a as new diagnostic biomarkers in the serum of people with OA who were candidates for hip replacement. Methods and Material: In this cross-sectional-descriptive-analytical study, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and after explaining the importance of the present study and completing a written consent form from all patients, a 2cc blood was taken in sterile conditions and samples were collected during patient collection in the refrigerator intended for the study in the laboratory. Then, based on the age and sex of the patients, matched with sex and age gender healthy individuals who were willing to participate in the study were selected. Results: 52 patients and 52 healthy individuals were included in the study. The gender in both groups were the same, with 32 females and 20 males. The mean age of the study was 57.82 ±9.11 years. The expression level of miR-146a and miR-139-5p was higher in the patients group than the control group. This difference was statistically significant. While the expression level of miR-1299 was lower in the patients than in the control group, this difference was not statistically significant. In addition, the level of IL-6 levels of was higher in the patients group than the control group, which was not statistically significant. The level of TNFα was higher in the patients group than in the control group. This difference was statistically significant.
