Evaluation of demographic and clinical Factors Associated with prognosis in Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis

چکیده
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is an inflammatory disease that mainly affects axial skeleton of the body.In ankylosing spondylitis, ligaments around the spine at the junction of the spine are inflamed.Because the disease is progressive and can lead to significant disability and the studies could provide a mechanism for the early detection of the disease or to help determine when to start treatment.The aim of this study is the evaluation of demographic and clinical Factors Associated with prognosis in Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study, one hundred and twenty five patients with ankylosing spondylitis who referred to Tabriz Rheumatology Clinic were evaluated. The most important variables studied included demographic data, clinical presentation, remission period,BASDAI in first and last visit filed and recorded in questionnaires. Results: In this study,125 patients were studied, with a mean age of 40.61 ± 10.60. Of these 125 patients, 86 were male (68.3%) and 39were female (31.7%). Also, 53.6% of patients were HLA-B27 positive.
