Determinant Factors in Adopting Mobile Technology-based Services by Academic Librarians in Tabriz University and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences
چکیده
Abstract
Introduction: Nowadays, mobile technology seems to become integral part of our lives. People with different careers have begun to use it at their jobs. This research aims to identify influential factors on mobile technology adoption at library context.
Materials & Methods: To this end, a conceptual model was presented based on integrated model of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Technology Organization and Environment model (TOE). A researcher-made questionnaire was distributed among 120 academic librarians. Nine factors out of the integrated model of TAM and TOE were chosen to investigate their influence on mobile technology adoption. The data was finally analyzed by AMOS16.0 software.
Findings: The results of the study suggest that the proposed model (integrated model of TAM and TOE) is a favorable one to identify the influential factors on mobile technology adoption at library context and regression analysis indicated that out of these seven factors, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, compatibility, relative advantage and organizational competency are determinant factors in adopting mobile technology-based library services among academic librarians.
Conclusion: The findings implied that relative advantage, compatibility, organizational readiness, management support, user readiness, competitive pressure, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use are influential factors on libararians attitude and adoption of mobile technology in library contexts. Due to this effect, it is recommended to consider these factors in library contexts.
