Abstract
Introduction: Dentinal micro-cracks can be produced during the canal preparation and finally cause to VRF, which yields teeth extraction. So, prevention of the mentioned problem is an important issue in the dentistry science. Nickel-Titanium alloys are recently used in canal preparation. The scope of the present study is the comparison of the effect of three Rotary files (RaCe, V-Taper (SP1) and Pro-Taper) on the created micro-cracks, in the apical, middle and coronal areas. Method and materials: 70 first mandibular and maxillary molars are chosen randomly, which distal roots of them are used. 10 samples remained without any manipulation during the study, as a control group. 60 other samples are divided into 3 groups. 20 samples in each group is prepared by a considered rotary files (according to the company instruction). An X40 stereo-microscope is used to identify the cracks. To compare the average number of the cracks in the considered groups and areas (apical, middle and coronal), Friedman, Chi-Square and Kruskal–Wallis tests are utilized and P<0.05 is marked as a meaningful level. Results: There is no meaningful difference between the numbers of the created cracks in the three rotary systems. In the group prepared by SP1 files, the least number of the cracks are observed in the middle area (p=0.045). Conclusion: All three files causes to dentinal cracks but SP1 files developed the least number of the cracks.
