Mapping the Co-authorship Networks of papers in the field of Nanomedicine originated by Iranian authors in Web of Science(2002-2014)
Abstract
Abstract
Introduction :Nanomedicine is the range of approaches, theories, devices at nanoscale and especiall nanostructures in order to identify, prevent or treat disease by the detection, repair and regeneration of damaged tissues at the molecular levels.
Aim : The objective of current study is to analyze and visualize the co-authorship network of all Iranian papers in the field of nanomedicine published throughout 2002-2014 in the journals and indexed in the Web of Science database.
Methods: we use the sceintometrics methods and social network analysis techniques .For data analysis and visualization, the softwares: Excel and Science tool and citespace was used.
Results: Analysis of data showed that the total number of papers extracted from the Web of Science in the field of nanomedicine through 2002 to 2014 was 70. the research activities in the field of nanomedicine increased steadily through the period of study. Iran ranks fifteenth in the world and ranks first among the Middle East countries in terms of scientific production in the field of nanomedicine. The co-authorship network was a connected and it’s density was 0.0196. Clustering coefficient was calculated at 0.9587.
Conclusion: results show that the international attention toward nanomedicine was increased. Nanomedicine researches have markedly been increased in Iran. More than of Ninety-four percent of Iranian papers were cooperated with multi-authors. The collaboration coefficient degree was calculated 0.731.
