Designing and evaluating an information system for patients with esophageal atresia

Abstract
Abstract Background: esophageal atresia information system to provide a unified source for the enhancement of patient care and conduct research on the disease. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the minimum data requirements and design of the information system for esophageal atresia patients. Method: Data elements were extracted from various texts and registry systems. Then, in the form of a first questionnaire from the experts panel, the data items were unnecessarily deleted from the list of questionnaires. For determining the significance of the data elements, a Likert scale of 5 points was used. Content content The questionnaire was based on experts' opinions and reliability of the questionnaires. The present study was carried out using Cronbach's alpha method. Then, according to existing data classes, a web-based information system was designed and the data of 400 patients from esophageal atresia patients during the years 1345-1384 in the hospital Children of Tabriz entered the system using a questionnaire The system's standard was evaluated Findings: Four categories of data, including 54 data items, were identified in the esophageal atresia registration system, including neonatal demographic data, clinical data, complications and follow-up, and maternal information. Based on the existing data elements, the web-based esophageal esophageal infarction system was designed and 400 records of the patient were recorded and their output reports were obtained and the system was evaluated by users with a standard questionnaire and scored a good score. Conclusion. Designing the Minimum set of data as the first step in creating a registration system esophageal atresia in Iran . The data elements specified in the electronic record or electronic esophageal atresia recorder for research purposes and the promotion of health care can be helpful to patients.
