Abstract
Introduction: The field of dentistry is one of the disciplines that in addition to the stress of the educational environment, also imposes stress on the clinical environment of the students. Correct stress management methods can prevent long-term adverse stresses from stress. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of training stress management methods on stress management in dental students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in 2019.
Method: In this semi-experimental study, which was evaluated using the applied and applied method, the research population was dental students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. A cluster random sampling method was used to select the appropriate student from each school and to be randomly assigned to two groups of control and intervention. For the intervention group, a stress management training class was held. One month before and after the intervention, students' stress was compared with the control group. The study was a Folkman & Lazarus Coping Stress Questionnaire (WCQ).
Results: Findings indicate that there is a meaningful relationship between stress and subtraction of the variable (pre-test) in both the problem-oriented circuit and the thrice circuit (P <0.001). Therefore, the effectiveness of stress management methods is confirmed on the stress of dentistry students.
Conclusion: According to the findings, the stress management approach has a positive and significant effect on students' stress in dentistry. Eco-coping skills training is a stress management technique that helps in controlling pressure on individuals.
