Design and evaluation the role of question answering system at the information exchange among physicians of Tabriz University of Medical Science

Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Since physicians, who are normally short of time, find it difficult to gain the intended exact answers to their questions from among the result lists shown by search engines, using a Question-Answer Website can smooth the way for them in getting the right answers more quickly. This study is aimed at design and evaluating a Question-Answer Website for physicians at Tabriz University of medical sciences. Methods: This study was a descriptive analysis survey. Standard checklist has been used in order to determine the system's features. The System was developed on MySQL database by means of PHP web development language and got loaded on the web space. Finally, the System and its 59 users of physicians, medical students and faculty member of Tabriz University of medical sciences came under evaluation. Questioner is the measurement tool which has been used in this study and it's been verified. The calculation of this study has accomplished by using soft wares Spss22 and Excel 2013. Findings: The information needs of users and the system's characteristics were determined using a researcher-made checklist. System availability by using mobile phone application has been given maximum percentage of 100 and the number of one question feedback has been given 47 percent. The axis, easy way of accessing the system, has been given 47 percent and coordinating information elements has been given 28 percent in evaluating the system. Conclusion: Using the System improves the share of knowledge, transfer of information, social partnership and cooperation among users. In order to solve their problems, physicians may obtain their required information by getting easily in contact with their co-practitioners active on the System.
