Designing a mobile application for registry of patients with Familial Mediterranean Fever
Abstract
Introduction: Disease registry can be an effective tool for providing systematic and comprehensive care. Registry system have a considerable impact on health system to creating suitable foundation for generating high quality information and data base for research purposes and provision of medical and educational services . considering sparsity of data on familial mediterranean fever , establishing a registry for this disease appears to be inevitable.
Methods: In this developmental and applied study which was conducted in 2018 , the researchers reviewed the registry site for FMF in different countries as well as guidelines and mobile applications for Mediterranean fever disease and inflammatory diseases in terms of different perspectives.
Results: results of this review were categorized into five groups including patient's demographic, clinical, medical, laboratory and patient health history information .then this information along with registrant physician information were used for creating a data base in SQLite . appropriate logical relationships between tables were defined .finally user interface was designed in Android Studio .this resulted into a mobile application with core capabilities such as registering and editing,viewing and reporting of patient data.
Conclusion: this work is very first attempt to develop a mobile based registry system for familial mediterranean fever .it can be used as a basis for future efforts toward establishing the electronic registry system in Iran.
