Abstract
Abstract: This study investigated the post myocardial infraction patient`s knowledge about the level of physical activity in the heart hospital. There were two purposes of this study: First, to identify if post myocardial infraction patients had information about their level pf physical activity prior to discharge. Second, to learn the extent of their knowledge as reflected by their ability to answer the questions correctly on the given questionnaire. The number of subjects was thirty. This number was chosen by random sampling from two medical wards of the heart hospital, each ward contained forty five beds. All subjects were from one hospital and they had myocardial infraction disease for the first time. All subjects had been hospitalized from ten to twenty days an were ready to. Be discharged without complications. The subjects were given twenty questions with thirty possible correct answer about the limitation of pysical activity they shoud have after discharge. It took one month to collect all the data and the results are as follows: only 66.66% of post myocardial infraction patients had some knowledge as compared to 33.33% who hade none. One third of all myocardial infraction patients knew nothing about the level of physical activity prior to discharge. One hundred % of the patients did not know seventy % of the material about the level of physical activity. For the first purpose of this study, ten people out of thirty subjects had no knowledge at all. They could not answer even one qustion correctly . For the second purpose of the study, the highest scores achieved were four out of thirty possible and only five subjects attained this score. The lowest score was zero and ten subjects got this score. This meant that most of the post myocardial infraction patients had no knowledge about the level of pysical activity prior to discharge, and their extent of knowledge was very low.
