Relationship between Organizational Learning and Head Nurses' Empowerment, in Hospitals of Tabriz, 2012.
Abstract
Abstract: Background and Objectives: In order to overcome the complex conditions with respect to the development of rapid information and technology today, all organizations try to improve their staff's empowerment. In this regard, using innovative effective skills, knowledgeable manages can accelerate the achievement of organizational goals. Hence the present study examined the relationship between organizational learning and empowerment in Tabriz Hospitals' head burses.
Methods: This was a descriptive correlational study in which 167 of head nurse from Tabriz hospitals, Iran. In order for data collection, the questionnaires were used consisting of demographic characteristics, Neefe organizational learning and Spreitzer psychological empowerment instrument. The data were analyzed by SPSS software (version 18).
Results: The results of this study showed that most participants in this study were female (0.86/8), married (0.84/5), a bachelor's degree (0.90/3) formal employed (0.85/6). They were 40-50 years old with experience of 15-20 years clinical work from which 10-15 years managerial works as head nurse. Each of the five components of empowerment was positively related to organizational learning (r=0.332 to 0.522).
Discussion and Conclusion: The findings of this research showed that, there is significant relationship between organizational learning and empowerment of head nurses. Believing the important of organizational learning in empowering nursing managers, it can be proposed that they proceed to development of learning and optima use of available educations relying on organization's goals as operational managers, so that, they can benefit from their maximum abilities in order to correct their deficiencies and weaknesses.
