Collaboration Process between Nurses

Introduction: Collaboration between nurses as a property and professional commitment in nursing had been known an important part in caring and is an appropriate solution for many problems in healthcare systems and providing qualitative care and capital preservation. Collaboration needs to interaction process. According to effects of collaboration between nurses and unknown of its process, the present study with aimed to explore the collaboration process between nurses has been conducted.
Methods: the present qualitative study based on grounded theory approach was conducted in 2013-2014. The main participants in this study were nurses working in hospitals of Tehran, Tabriz and Ilam cities. Selection of participants was initiated using purposeful sampling and continued by theoretical sampling until theoretical saturation was achieved. The main data collecting tool was unstructured interviews. A total of 27 interviews were preformed with 25 participants. Data were analyzed based on Corbin and Strauss (2008) method.
Results: professional resources, professional process, professional culture and individual inputs were the four main categories of contextual factors that influences on collaboration between nurses. Discrimination between peers was the participant's main concern. Presenting a positive image of self, objection and expectation, were the perspective three stages of process that participants use for overcoming of discrimination; that accompanied with access to justice and passivity. "Encountering with nurses intra-professional discrimination: establish the relative interactional, distributive and procedural justice" was the core category that connected categories' to each other.
Conclusion: achieving to a substantive theory based on data and according to participants experiences indicated the collaboration process between nurses. Identifying of this process, influencing factors and its outcome will be helpful to problem diagnosis and strategies to solution them.
