Evaluation of Total Quality Management Awareness and Application among Pharmaceutical Industry’s Managers in East Azarbayjan Province
Abstract
One of the most important goals of the pharmaceutical industry is the implementation of a quality assurance policy. The Total Quality Management (TQM) concept ensures the quality, safety and efficacy of the service.
Aim:
The aim of this study was to investigate the attitudes and awareness of the managers of the main pharmaceutical companies in East Azarbaijan province (Shahid Ghazi, Dana and Zahravi Pharmaceutical Companies) about the principles of comprehensive quality and the ability to use this principles and achieving to the organization goals.
Material and Methods:
A suitable questionnaire was designed for collecting data. Which included demographic information collection and TQM basics. This questionnaire was distributed among the officials and staff of the pharmaceutical companies X, Y and Z.
Results:
Cronbach's alpha test was performed for all questions. The alpha coefficient was 0.967. The results of the ROC test showed that senior management support and commitment have high sensitivity and specificity, as well as a reasonable and acceptable underlying level between X andY companies can be a factor in the evaluation of TQM, the results of the ANOVA test In all of the components that affect TQM, X has a better performance position.
Discussion and Conclusion:
Based on the results of this study among the principles of TQM, comprehensive staff training, focusing on customer satisfaction, organizing for quality were the most attention for implementation by the managers of the companies. Among the companies surveyed, X had the best performans in terms of TQM principles.
