Face and Content validity of Persian Version of Disease-Specific Measure of Health-Related Quality of Life for Children with Cystic Fibrosis (CFQ)
Abstract
Background:
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is one of chronic disease which decreases quality of life of children significantly. Despite of increase in life expectancy & life span of patients with CF in recent years, but quality of life of these patients is still as common health problem. The existence of a simple and reliable tool in any languages is necessary for evaluating quality of life of patients with CF. Due to lack of a proper Persian tool for evaluating quality of life, the aim of present study is to evaluate face and content validity of Persian version of disease-specific measure of health-related quality of life for children with CF (CFQ).
Methods & Materials:
In a descriptive-analytical study, for evaluating validity of Persian version, the original version of CFQ was translated to Persian by two translators separately, and after integration and re-translated the original language; the questionnaire was validated by corresponding author. Expert panel including 6 physiotherapists in PHD level, 6 pediatrics, a psychologist, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist For evaluating face and content validity; evaluated content validity ratio (CVR), content validity index (CVI), and impact score.
Results:
Based on results of present study, all questions of both version (parents & children) Persian questionnaire of CFQ had face and content validity. As results CVR score of all questions were more than 0.49, and CVI score more than 0.79, and impact score of all questions were more than 1.5.
Conclusion:
Based on finding of present study, both version (parents & children) Persian prepared version of CFQ; is an efficient tool in evaluating quality of life patients with CF and its validity is acceptable.
