Correlation of Leptin and cortisol levels with quantity and quality of oocytes, embyos and pregnancy rate in women undergoing invitro fertilization (IVF)
Abstract
The main aim of this study was finding of correlation between the number of oocyte and embryons which gained through IVF with serum level of sex hormones and other chemical biomarkers, inaddition cortisol and leptin level were detected.
Methods:
Forty patient under went infertility treatment by ART were studied the data of sex and endocrine hormons were obtained by routin laboratory techniques at follicular phase. Then serum level of leptin and cortisol were determined at ovarian puncture day by ELISA as well, the demographic data of patients were gathered. correlation of data determined by statistical methods.
Results:
BMI and other biomarkers such as leptin, triglyceride, DHESA and testosterone were low in companrison with normal range. correlathion of cortisol with triglyceride and age as well as TSH with oocyte number were significanthly negative. In spite of negative correlation of oocyt number with age, Androstronedione, Testostrone, BMI, and DHESA as well as the number of oocyte had positive correlation with AMH. These correlations were non significant. Also, the serum level of leptin had significanthly showed correlation with Triglyceride but leptin had not showed any significant correlation with Testostrone.
