Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Diaper dermatitis is one of the most common skin disorders in infancy and childhood. In the absence of timely treatment of the disease, the lesions cause secondary infection. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of Aloe Vera ointment with chamomile ointment on the severity of extent diaper diapers in children. Materials and Methods: In a double-blind clinical trial study, 90 children under two years of age who were referred to the pediatric ward of Tabriz Hospital using diapers were entered into the study using available sampling method. The children were divided into three groups of 30, and received a routine group (a mixture of hydrocortisone, colutrimazole and zinc oxide ointment) and the other two groups, along with routine treatment, chamomile ointment and aloe vera. Examination of samples on the first, third and sixth days of the study was done using the World Health Organization's five-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software, descriptive and analytical statistics. Results: Regarding the statistical results, the severity and severity of dermatitis in all three groups improved during the study, but there was no significant difference between the three groups in the treatment of the extent and severity of diaper dermatitis between the groups during the study (P > 0.05). Discussion and Conclusion: Despite the superiority of the Aloe Vera and Chamomile and routine treatment in the treatment of this disease, however, due to less complications of herbal medicines than chemical drugs, the use of these products is recommended for the treatment of diaper dermatitis.
