Comparison of Wife Violence among Female Nurses and Women Employed in the Office of the Educational Centers of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in 2016
Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Importance of the status of healthy women in society and their role in the comprehensive development of society is undeniable to anyone.In recent decades¸brutality against women was climed to be as the most serious social problem¸ beyond cultural, social or even regional boundaries. Violence of husband against his wife is a global issue.Because of essence of Nursing job, female nurses are at high risk of exposure to violence of their husband.for this reason comparing to other women this group has more important place in study.
materials and methods:This is a descriptive-comparative cross¬_sectional search.300 female nurses working at clinical section and 300 female employees working at the department section of al-Zahra,Madani, Imam Reza, Taleghani, Sina centers participated in this research.These persons had bachelors degree or higher.Severity of violence against women scale questionnaire(SVAWS) was used for gathering data.Software used for this study was Spss 17.
RESULTS: The results of this study showed that nursing women (74.8 ± 15.41) had more spouse violence than females working in the administrative department (60 ± 12.601). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant The confidence interval is 99% (P = 0.000). Also, the correlational coefficient obtained (527) showed that with increasing the number of injuries and individual risk factors (substance abuse, low income), family (low marital satisfaction) and social (low social class, inappropriate housing ) Related to violence of the spouse, action of violence also were increases.
conclusion:According to the resalts of study it seems that the reason of higher level of spouse violence in female nurses may be the essence of nursing job.Solving of this problem needs efforts and plans of managers and planners of the nursery job.
