History of Clinics and Hospitals in Iran after the Islamic
Abstract
Medical and treatment history in Iran, from prehistoric times to the present, always is a brilliant chapter in the history of this land which includes sincere efforts of a wide range of famous scientists and doctors. Nowadays, what can be tracked almost in documentary form is that Jondi Shapour University and Hospital, was one of the most important scientific, research and treatment centers, in five to seven centuries AD, on the worldwide, which structure and scientific and its management framework, has become to multifunctional model for shaping to other hospitals in the next centuries. In Iran and after Islam, with using of the management and efficient structure of Jundi Shapour hospital, and supporting from the Islamic caliphate and Iranian scientists governments, build and equip of hospitals and medical centers, found growing trend as an inevitable necessity. So that in this study, the most important hospitals in Iran, has been introduced. Because of date inferable of current research efficiency, two important medical centers in two periods were detailed and examined, in the history of Iran after Islam. "Neyshabur Nizamiyya hospital," in the Seljuk period and the period before the Mongol invasion, and "hospital of Tabriz Robe Rashidi" related to Ilkhani age and the period after the Mongol invasion. The results showed that in four historical periods, "Buwayhid", "Seljuk", "Ilkhani" and "Safavid", the establishment of equipped and large health centers, was one of the main priorities for the governments, and in other periods, although the construction of these centers, continued more or less. But in practice more focus is on maintain of existing health centers or ultimately their reconstruction and rehabilitation
