Abstract

Transcutol® or diethylene glycol monoethyl ether is a liquid which has a long history of use in cosmetic and over-the-counter topically applied products. Transcutol® has been applied in several commercial preparations and is used in many studies as the main ingredient of formulations. It has been used in formulations as a co-surfactant and a penetration enhancer.
