اثر تک دوز ژل رویال بر سطح گلوکز، انسولین و پپتید C پلاسما در بیماران مبتلا به دیابت تیپ2
Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of single doses of fresh royal jelly as a complementary therapy on glycemic response in type 2 diabetic. In this randomized clinical trial, 40 volunteers with type 2 diabetes were assigned into the royal jelly (n=20) and placebo (n=20) groups, receiving 10 gram fresh royal jelly or placebo after overnight fasting. Serum glucose, insulin and C-peptide concentration was determined at 0, 60, 120 min after intervention with colorimetric and ELISA methods. We asked patients dont consume any food and beverage except water during intervention. Independent t-test, Paired t-test, repeated measurement ANOVA and Chi-square was used for data analyzing. P value less than 0.05 consider as statistically significant. The mean serum glucose levels decreased in royal jelly and placebo groups but we didnt find any significant difference between two groups after 1 and 2 hour of royal jelly ingestion (P=0.7). One hour after royal jelly ingestion the mean serum insulin concentrations increased and after 2 hours it was decreased. In placebo group insulin levels decreased, but no significant differences were observed between two groups (P=0.32). The mean C-peptide concentrations was increased after 1 and 2 hours of royal jelly ingestion but in the placebo group we observed a slight reduction in the mean C-peptide serum levels but no significant differences were observed between two groups (P=0.4). We didnt find any significant differences in none of glycemic control parameters between both studied groups (P>0.05).
