Abstract
Methods and Materials: Seventy-two maxillary anterior extracted human teeth were selected and randomly divided into three groups each with 20 teeth and 3 groups each with 4 teeth serving as positive and negative control. The root canals of the teeth were cleaned and shaped abturated with gutta- percha and MTA and Resilon. The apical 3mm of each root was removed peripendicular to the long axis of the tooth with a carbide fissure bur.The apical leakage was measured using the dye penetration methodology. Results: The teeth filled with gutta-percha displayed the more apical microleakage was show with Resilon Also the teeth filled MTA displayed the least apical leakage amorg the groups. Conclusion: Althaugh MTA displayed the least microleakage but the differences in leakage amorg the groups were not statisticatly significant (P=0.065).
