Survey of midface fractures etiology in patients referred to Emam Reza training and educational center in 1392 year

Abstract
In modern societies the trauma is one of the main causes of mortality and morbidity.The face area directly exposed to trauma and causes various injuries in soft tissue and the bones structures.Controling jaw and face fractures is seem to be as a challenge for jaw and face surgeons and requires experience and skills.Succesful treatment and correct function in preventive measurments are based on epidemiologic surveys. In this study the patients referring to the orofacial surgery department of Emam Reza Training and Educational center in 1392,who had midface fractures were studied in a retrospective manner and the data were analyzed by SPSS.17 closed analysis system. The data obtained from files were recorded on special from which had been prepared in advance.The results of study are as follows: 64 files were evaluated,of which 51.6% related to accidents and falling and street Hights ranked next . Men comprised 87.5% of the patients. Most fractures occurred at the age range of 21-30 with mean age of 32.213.8 with 35.9% of the cases. Accidents in this study include car, motorcycle and bicycle accidents . In differential evalution of the fractures of the midface, Zygomatic bone had been fractured more commonly with 87.5 % of the cases.
