Study on the effect of assuring and informing patients visiting surgical department in decreasing their stress
Abstract
Although the surgical operation of the third molar is considered a minor surgery for some of the patients , however, is stressful. There are variations of methods to reduce patients anxietiy. The object of this study was to determine The effect of ensuring and giving awareness of patients referring to surgical department in regard to reduction of their anxietry. Meterial and methods: In a clinical trial study, 70 patients (38 females 32 males) referring for surgical operation of third molar with a average of 225 years old (among 18 to 35 years old), accidently divided into two groups of 35 persons. In Case group, ensaring and giving awareness was done through conversation Anxiety ;evels of patients befor and a fleter surgeny was determined with using of spigle Burgerss standard from . Information obtained through descriptional statical methods and menuiti test was analyzed by using. Results: The average anxietry score SPSS/13 software was 32.78.7 before the surgery in control group and 32.2510.67 in case group that become 45.054.55 in control group and 38.948.8 in case group. The anxietry levels before surgery was 28.029.75 in males and 37.786.46 in females . The anxiety level after surgery was 38.947.87 in males and 45.625.51 in females. Conclusion: Ensaning and giving awareness of patients was effective in reduction of anxiety in patients that was taken under surgical operation of third molar.
