Prevarence of bilateral first permanent molar caries in Tabriz 12 year-old students

Abstract
Dental caries are the most common chronic childhood disorders the purpose of this study was Prevalence of Bilateral first permanent molar caries in Tabriz 12- year-old students . Materials and Methods: In this cross- sectional study a total of 120 (60 boys and 60 girls) were randomly selected from Tabriz school . Pupils were examined clinically for dental caries according to World Health Organization (WHO) criteria. data were analyzed by using descriptional statistical tests and T- test and in fection controls SPSS/13. Results: Prevalence of Bilateral first permanent molar caries were 26% and 35% in upper jaw and lower jaw respectively Prevalence dental caries in boys was mor than girls but it isnot significant statistically. Conclusion: Caries prevalence among 12- year- old students in Tabriz is higher than the global standards of WHO for 2010; therefore , improving the existing dental services performing prevention programme for students seems to be necessary in the future.
