Knowledge study of general dentists of Tabriz regarding patients rights in 2012

Abstract

Respecting patients rights is a very important thing and its depending on the knowledge rate of providers and recipients of health care; about humans rights charter. so this studies aim is rate of knowledge of General dentists of Tabriz city about humans rights charter. it has been done in tabriz city in 1391. Methods and materials: In this descriptive-sectional study which has been done in 1391 , a questionare was used which has demographic part and the other part is some questions about the knowledge rate of general dentists about human rights charter.The knowledge rate is divided to 4 parts : excellent, good, moderate and poor. Obtained information were analyzed by using statistical software SPSS-15 and the cronbakh mark is 0.78. Results: Results of this study is showing the knowledge rate of the general dentists of the Tabriz city is moderate. Significant correlation between knowledge rate and working experience,the time interval from finishing studying dentistry course till now, was found. The general dentists who had participated in more review classes had more knowledge about human rights charter comparing to others.(p<0.01). Conclusion: The results of the study shows that the knowledge rate of general dentist is moderate which is not so good . So we suggest to organize some classes and educate about respecting patients right for dental studets because they are a group of people who give health care in society and organize review classes for general dentists to educate them about respecting patients rights.
