Evalution of DMFT , dmft In 6 , 9 , 12 year old children of Basmenj in 2012

Abstract
Animportant index for the evaluation of the oral health status is DMFT which is the mean value of decayed, missing, and fihhed teeth. The aim of the present study was to determine the oral health status of 6, 9 and 12-year-olds in Basmenj, Iran, through assessment of DMFT in 2012. Materials and methods : In this descriptive study, 361 school children, 140 6-year-old, 123 9-year-old, 98 12-year-old, were selected randomly. Samples were examined using a dental mirror and explorer, on a chair under natural light in a classroom setting. A questionnaire was used to collect DMFT data as the frequency of tooth brushing. Results : Mean DMFT was 1.10.11, 0.0160.009, 0 in 6, 9, 12-year-olds, respectively. Mean dmft was 3.32.5, 6.64.3, 7.14.3 in 6 and 9-year-olds, respectively 2%, 4.1%, 6.4% of 6, 9 and 12-year-olds children were carsis free, respectively 9.4, 19.7, 22.7 of 6, 9, and 12-year-olds brushed at least once daily. Concluision : There was a significant lifference between DMFT between dmft and the frequency of tooth brushing in the 9-year-old children
