Evaluation of the patient's satisfaction from the complet denture made in prosthodontics department of Tabriz dental faculty based on the remaining alveolar ridge
Abstract
Day by day the number of denture users is rising, Because all people are not able to pay for implants And should use denture. Dissatisfaction with their treatment in the field of medical science has always existed and dentistry is not an exception. Most of these problems despite practitioners' skill in the diagnosis and treatment of edentulous patient and proper use of dental materials, still occur. Materials & Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on 60 patients that referred to removable prosthetic department in dental faculty of Tabriz by questionnaire and clinical examination. Data were analyzed in SPSS21 software. In this study, P value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: 61.5 % of patients were men and mostly were in 30-40 years old group. 43.3% had class two ridge and 56.7% had class three ridge. None of the patients had class one and four Ridge. The results of this study clearly showed that, in some cases, patient satisfaction has significant relationship based on a patient's remained Ridge condition, one and three months after delivery of the prosthesis. Such that Satisfaction was higher in patients with Class II ridge. Also during trimester increased patient satisfaction. Conclusions: 38.4% of patients one month after and 67% of patients three months after delivery of their dental prosthesis were satisfied. Patient satisfaction about chewing soft foods, the overall ability to chew, speak easily, retention of the denture and overall satisfaction was higher in patients with Class II ridge. The patient satisfaction of the dental prosthesis within one to three months after delivery was significantly increased.
