Evaluation of the knowlwdge, attitudes and practice about sterilization and methods in dentist office
Abstract
Sterilization is annihilating of all organism by physical and chemical method. Sterilization of devise is one of major principles of infection control in dentists. Methods: In a cross sectional and descriptive study that performed of dentist and 5 and 6 year dentist student, knowledge, attitudes and practice of dentist and 5 and 6 year dentist student about Sterilization and methods in dentist office evaluated. Results: 45% of studied persons were male and 55% of them were female. According to studied persons, most common infection organism transmitted by blood was HB. Dentist most dominant group at risk of infection. All of studied persons known methods of prescription antibiotic therapy in patients. Autoclave is suitable method for sterilization in dentists. All of studied persons had high practice about Sterilization and methods in dentist office. All of studied persons disagree with coction can destroy HBV and HIV. All of studied people's suitable concentration of Alcohol was 70-79%. Best degree of dry-heat is 160. Antiseptic must be safe for derma and mucus. Dental hand pieces and turbine need for good airing. All of studied persons disagree with probability of pervasion of HBV through dental device was low. Conclusion: All of studied persons had suitable knowledge, high practice and good attitudes about Sterilization and methods in dentist office.
