Evaluation of some demographic and social data in referring patients to under-graduated prosthodontics department of dentistry faculty of Tabriz

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine Evaluation of Some Demographic and Social Data In Referring Patients to Under-graduated Prosthodontics Department of Dentistry Faculty of Tabriz. Materials & Methods: In this descriptive-cross sectional study was conducted on patients that referred to prosthetic department in dental faculty of Tabriz , we were assessed Social-Demographic data(income,education ,). After that the data collected; those were analyzed using descriptive methods , Chi-square or ONE WAY ANOVA analyze and Tukey test by using of SPSS21 software .In this study P< 0/05 is statistically significant. Results: The mean age of the study population was 49.6 13.7 years, and there were 111 (55.2%) males. This study showed that sex and patients education were significantly associated with cause of refferin05/0g to prosthodontis department(P-value<0.001). A higher percentage of subjects reffered to prosthodontis department for getting removable complete denture , fixed partial denture and removable partial denture respectively. Discussion &Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, all of referring patients had poor socioeconomical status and a higher percentage of subjects needed complete dentures .
