Abstract
An important factor in the esthetics of artificial teeth is their color match with natural teeth Color. Research has shown that shade guides do not always match the color of natural teeth. Moreover, Visual evaluation of dental colors has been found to be inconsistent and unreliable. The aim of this study was to Evaluation of color accordance of porcelain samples of Ceramco, Noritake and Vita by shade guides of their systems from the Viewpoints of the Teachers of prosthodontics department.Materials & Methods: In this study, 5 professors of Prosthodontics, determined color of four samples made of three different types of porcelain, using Vitapan Classic and Noritake system. Data obtained from study using descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA were evaluated. P values less than 0.05 was considered statistically significantResult: Samples made of Noritake porcelain had better color match with both systems but ANOVA test showed that this finding was not statistically significant. The average of color match in Vitapan Classic system was 40% and Noritake system was 43%. Although clinically Noritake color selection system had better color matching but t-test for independent groups showed that this difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Porcelain type and color selection system had no effect on tooth color selection
