Evaluation of awareness of dental practitioners in mineral of dental precautions in pregnant women in 2011

Abstract
Because of utmost importance of fetus and mother during pregnany, the dental care should not have any side effects on either fetus or mother. The dentists knowledge affects their practice. So, this study aimed to evaluate the knowledge of Marand general dental practitioners on the considerations of dental treatment in pregnant patient. Materials & Methods: All of Marand general dental practitioners (n=18) were particpated in the current study. After completeing the questionares by them, the collected data were analyzed statistically. Results: The findings indicated that the knowledge of Marand general dental practitioners on the considerations of dental treatment in pregnant patient was at moderate to low levels. The mean knowledge of women GDPs was significantly higher than men (P<0.05). The Peersons correlation analysis revealed that the knowledge levels decrease with aging (P<0.05). Conclusions: Whitin the limitations of this study, the knowledge of Marand GDPs on the considerations of dental treatment in pregnant patient was at moderate to low levels.
