Comparison of postgraduate periodontology curriculum in Iran with those of a number of credited American and Canadian dental schools
Abstract
the main objective of this study is to survey periodontology postgraduate education system in Iran in comparison with this system in selected dental schools in United state and Canada. Materials and methods:using a structured review of existing documentation and site-related curriculum and curricula in the education of students of post graduate periodontology studying in dental schools of Tabriz, Harvard, Boston, Maryland and Toronto a researcher form was completed and analyzed. Results:results from this study show that in all selected dental schools, the overall curriculum was course-centered. graduate courses in stomatology system is presenting with practical lessons so there is a much emphasize on research programs. Conclusion:physiopathology courses that has been presented in stomatological dental issues, seems to fill the minds of the learners and reduce the clinical works and research programs. thus providing a solutions for integration with graduate courses, graduate students in our country with the others that enterprise education can make fellowship and postgraduate education more effective
