Comparison of knowledge attitude and practice of general physicians, pediatricians and dentists on the children's oral health in Tabriz at 1393
Abstract
Despit of enhancement of oral health status in the world, dental caries is one of the most common chronic disease among children. High knowledge and practice of the groups in medical system related pediatric dentistry, are the most important factors caused success in dentistry. this medical group includes general physicians and pediatrics who can help dentists to improve childrens oral health status. this study aimed to Comparison of knowledge, attitude and practice of general physicians, pediatricians and dentists regarding the childrens oral health in Tabriz at 1393. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 225 participants include 75 general physicians,75 pediatricians and 75 dentists. a questionnaire including 8 knowledge question s,12 attitude questions and 6 practice questions.data was analyzed by spss-21. Results: According to the study results ,the overall grade of acknowledgment and attitude was highly favorable among 3 groups,and there wasnt Statistically significant difference between two groups(p=0/87). practice of general physicians and pediatrics regarding to children oral health care was low noticibally, and there was Statistically significant difference(p=0/0). Conclusion: the results showed that overall grade of acknowledgment and attitude was highly favorable among 3 groups, items such as caries due to breast feeding ,milk during night and sugar contain liquids needed to improved.this study showed that, the correlation between medical and dental system is needed to evaluate the practice of providers and nation oral health stasus.
