Abstract
Coronal barrier in root filled teeth is one of the most effective methods for prevention of coronal microleakage. The purpose of this study was to compare the coronal microleakage of three materials ( light cured GlassEionomer, ProRoot MTA and composite flow) as in root filled teeth. Materials and Methods: In this in vitro study , 94 intact maxillary incisors were used. then cleaning and shapping with step-back technique was done and canals; were obturated with gutta-percha and ZOE sealer then crowns were removed from CEJ line. Teeth were randomly divided into three experimental groups (n=28) and two negative and positive control groups (n=10). After placing the coronal barriers samples were submerged in India ink for two weeks . These samples were longitudinally sectioned and were observed and dye penetration was measured under a stereomicroscope at *10. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical methods and one-way ANOVA using SPSS/13 statistical software. Results: The mean penetration of Glass-ionomer, ProRoot MTA and composite flow were 5.39, 4.42 and 5.18, respectively. Pro Root MTA had statistically significant difference with Glass-ionomer(P0.05). Conclusion: Pro Root MTA was more effective than class ionomer and composit flow in preventation of coronal microleakage when used as Coronal barrier.
