Abstract
The end aim of root canal treatment is complete filling of apical, coronal and lateral of root. The most common method for determine of working length is radiology. The Success in endodontic treatment depends on different factors. Several methods for determination of working length were introduced that one of these methods is electronic apex-Finder. Methods: In a descriptive analytical study that performed on patients that referred to surgery ward of dentist university of Tabriz for extraction of 6 th and 7 th teeth of mandible and accuracy rate of determine of working length of root canal with using Novapex electronic apex- finder and radiography compared with real working length which was measured with direct sight. Results: Mean of root working length 6 th and 7 th teeth of mandible in direct measured was 19.86 1.41 mm. Mean of root working length 6 th and 7 th teeth of mandible in radiography was 19.55 1.43 mm. Mean of root working length 6 th and 7 th teeth of mandible with Novapex electronic apex- finder was 19.63 1.46 mm. Evaluation of one way ANOVA test show that mean of working length in three studied methods was not significant difference(P=0.39 , F(2,222)=0.92). Conclusion: Accuracy rate of Novapex electronic apex-finder in comparison with direct measured with accuracy 0.3 mm was 57.33%, with accuracy 0.4 mm was 76% and with accuracy 0.5 mm was 97.33%
