Assesment of serum Ig G, Ig M and Ig A levels in ulcerative and non ulcertive oral lichen planus patients referring to Tabriz dental faculty
چکیده
lichen planus (LP) is a relatively common, chronic dermato- mucosal disease that affects the oral mucosa, but can affect any part of the body surface. Al though the etiology and patho genesis of LP is not fully understood , different couses such as genetic susceptibility , hyper sensitivity to drugs, metals and vaccinations bacterial and vira infactions may act as a risk factor for LP. Some evidence indicates that humoral immunity may also play apart in the development and perpetuation of LP With regard to the fact that inpresent time a few studies about relation ship between oral lichenplanus(OLP )and serum immunolobulins have been performed and paradox results have been earned, this study was designed to evaluate the levels of serum immunoglo bulins (IgG, Igm and IgA) in ulcerative and non ulcerative OLP aswell as in healthy controlgrap. materials and metods: The present study evaluated 25 patients with ulcerative OLP, 25 patients with non ulcerative OLPand 25 healthy individuals as control group. Patients and control groups were selected from those refered to dental clinical . serum IgG, IgM and IgA tests was performed for all subjects. Descriptive statistic (Frequency and percentage ) were applied and Chi- Square test was employed to compare mean differences , using SPSS Win/14 computer soft ware. Results: IgG levels are different in different groups, with higher IgG levels in the ulcerative lichen planus group. Based on the same data it is concluded that IgM and IgA levels are not different in different groups. Conclusion: Elevated serum IgG levels were noted in patients with ulcerative lesions; these levels were tought to represent secondary infection rather than primary pathogenic phenomen.
