This umbrella review presents an overall picture of the evidence of efficient nutraceutical supplements in the management of the symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA). Materials and Methods: We search Systematic reviews and meta-analyses related to evaluating different nutraceutical supplementations to decrease the symptoms of OA. For this purpose, different databases such as PubMed, Embase, Google Scholar, the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Database for Systematic Reviews, the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and also the PROSPERO register were systematically searched to find related systematic reviews (with or without meta-analyses), from inception to January 1, 2023. Two reviewers independently used the JBI Checklist for the critical appraisal. The data extraction of qualified studies was done using the JBI Form for Data Extraction in Systematic Reviews and Research Syntheses. Results: The primary search resulted in 951 titles. After deleting 224 duplicated studies, 727 studies were screened for title and abstract. Full text of 99 articles assessed for eligibility to be included in the study. Finally, 45 qualitative systematic reviews or quantitative meta-analyses were considered eligible and included in this umbrella review study. No study was excluded based on using the JBI checklist for critical appraisal. The results revealed that some nutritional supplements have significant effects on relieving pain and improving function in patients with OA. Also, there was limited evidence to evaluate different herbal plants and their extract on prevention or treatment and decreasing pain.en_US
