Prejudice and discrimination against transgender people (eg, transphobia) is pervasive and has been shown to have detrimental effects on the physical (eg, substance abuse and other self-harming behaviors) and mental (eg, depression and suicidal thoughts) health of those who are transgender. have been targeted. In this regard, the present study was conducted with the aim of validating the scale of sexism and transphobia in the student population of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Methods: First, the genderism and transphobia scale (GTS) was translated by the researcher and his colleagues and finalized with the approval of the professors of the relevant field and two English language professors. After preparing the scale, the researchers applied it among the volunteer students by visiting the faculties and making the necessary arrangements with the authorities. After collecting the data, the data were entered into the computer and analyzed using SPSS and Lisrel software. Finally, the values of validity and reliability indices were examined. Results: The number of female students participating in the research was 204 and the number of boys was 214. The average age and standard deviation of the sample in boys and girls were 23.73 (1.93) and 23.71 (2.12) respectively. The calculation of Cronbach's alpha coefficients for examining the internal consistency of the Transphobia/genderism subscales was 0.89 and for the Gender-bashing subscale was 0.83. This index shows a high coefficient of 0.91 for the entire GTS. There is a high correlation between the dual subscales of GTS, and a high level of significance indicated that GTS has good construct validity. The fit indices of GTS two-factor model indicated its good fit.en_US
