Palindromic rheumatism is characterized by frequent and irregular attacks without fever, arthritis, periarthritis, and sometimes swelling and erythema of the soft tissue around the joint, which occur at unspecified intervals and last for several hours to several days. Tumor necrosis factor-induced protein (SLC22A4) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. The present study aimed to investigate the polymorphisms (Rs3792876, RS1050152) of the SLC22A4 gene in patients with palindromic rheumatism and RA patients. has been Method: The total volume of the studied sample was 120 people. These people were selected from the patients referred to the hospital who had palindromic rheumatism diagnosed by a rheumatologist based on diagnostic criteria, and 40 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 40 control group without autoimmune disease were selected. After blood collection and RNA extraction, Rs3792876 and RS1050152 polymorphisms were investigated using tetra-ARMs PCR technique. Results: The results of our study showed that the frequency difference of RS1050152 genotypes including CC, TC and TT and TT, TC and CC genotypes corresponding to Rs3792876 between the control groups and the group of patients with RA as well as the control group and the group of patients with palindromic rheumatism is significant.
