dc.description.abstractIntroduction: This research has done a comparative study of medical ethical codes in pharmacy of Alberta (Canada), United States, Bangladesh, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia compared to Iran.Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to identify the shortcomings of the ethical codes and to improve the pharmaceutical ethical codes of Iran's comprehensive document, to guide pharmacists to perform their duties more fully and better. Methodology: For this purpose, first the key principles of ethical codes in each of the studied countries were identified and analyzed. Then, the principles that are considered in the ethical codes of other countries, but ignored or not well addressed in the ethical codes of Iran, were identified. Results: This research shows that the ethical codes of pharmaceuticals in Iran in some areas, such as detailing ethical principles in the form of ethical charters in different groups of pharmacists, including pharmaceutical distribution and importing companies, pharmacists, pharmaceutical factories, and the Food and Drug Organization It has worked better than other countries, but on the other hand, in some cases, such as issues related to the virtual space of the pharmaceutical field (sales, advertising, etc.), preventing conflicts of interest, and commitment to continuous training of pharmacists, there are shortcomings compared to the ethical principles of other countries.. Conclusion: These shortcomings can have negative consequences on the professional performance of pharmacists and public trust in this profession. In the end, according to the results, suggestions have been made to improve the ethical codes of pharmacy in Iran, which can help to improve the ethical level of the pharmaceutical profession and improve the general health of the society.en_US
