dc.description.abstractLacunar infarction or small subcortical infarction is caused by the blockage of a single penetrating artery and constitutes a quarter of cerebral infarctions. A similar study was not found in our region and our country, and on the other hand, knowing this possible trend of this disease can be effective in health planning and care of people in the society. The purpose of this study is to investigate the outcome of patients with lacunar stroke in a period of five years. Methods: Patients with symptoms of mild or unknown neurological deficits, or during the examination of Lacon's vision patients in MRI, patients who visited the neurology clinic from 2017 onwards, were included in the study; Then, the outcome of these patients will be investigated in the next five years, and the aforementioned documents were extracted from the Stroke Registry of the Neuroscience Research Center. Results: In this study, 251 patients were included in the study. The median age of the patients was 60 years, with a median of 58 to 78 years. In examining the gender distribution of patients, the ratio of male to female involvement was 2:1. In examining the symptoms of patients, weakness of upper and lower limbs and dysarthria and finally visual impairment are more common, which is the most common dysarthria. In examining the risk factors of patients, the most common factor is diabetes mellitus (73.1%) followed by hypertension (70.1%), atrial fibrillation was seen in only 1 (0.4%) and hyperlipidemia in 29 (11.6) %) of patients. Of the studied patients, 241 patients (96%) had two visits to the hospital and 7 patients had more than 2 visits. In the study of patients' social habits, smoking and snoring were seen in nearly one-fifth of patients. In the examination of the complications of the disease in the follow-up 14 days after the discharge of the patients, the most common complication during this period with a frequency of 1.6% (4 people) was recurrent stroke.en_US
