dc.description.abstractComparing the level of self-expression according to the identity styles of adolescent girls in Tabriz city in 2022-2023 Background and purpose: identity is an important part of human existence and the personal and social life of each person is influenced by his identity. The most important developmental challenge in adolescence is acquiring identity. Having a coherent and strong sense of identity is a prerequisite for the optimal development of a person throughout life, and the lack of such a sense can be the basis of psycho-social damage. Self-expression, as one of the areas of mental health, means the ability to express oneself clearly, directly and competently, to respect one's feelings and thoughts, and to recognize one's abilities and limitations, and a violation of social skills (self expression) damages people's mental health. According to the studies conducted in the field of identity styles and self-expression, but due to the lack of studies to compare the amount of self-expression according to identity styles, this study examines the relationship These two will compare it in different identity styles. Methods: The sampling method in this study is multi-stage random stratification. In this study, among the 177 secondary schools in the 5 districts of Tabriz and among the 29,600 female students studying in each district, respectively: District 1 (133 students), District 2 (83 students), District 3 (141 students), District 4 (120 students) and District 5 (93 students) were selected in a simple random manner. And from each district, 10% of existing schools were randomly selected as target schools for sampling. Questionnaires were provided to the students by visiting the selected schools in person and collected after completion. Data collection tool in This study is demographic information questionnaire, Berzonsky identity style questionnaire and self-expression questionnaire for teenagers. Results: According to the calculations made, out of a total of 557 young girls of Tabriz city participating in the study, most of them were studying in the second grade and in the field of experimental sciences. Out of a total of 557 girls, most of them were the second child of the family and single. The results of the data show that the average score of the participants' self-expression is around 10.85 ± 2.52, which indicates the lack of ability of the participants to express themselves. There is a statistically significant difference between the different styles in terms of the self-expression score, and a significant difference is observed between the self-expression score of teenagers with informational and avoidant identity style (p=0.01). Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that 23.5% of the participants are in informational identity style, 25.9% in normative style, 23.2% in avoidant-confused style and 27.5% in commitment. The results of the studies conducted in this field show that the dominant style among young people is youth. The average score of self-expression of the participants is around 10.85 ± 2.52, which indicates the lack of self-expression ability. It is the participants. There is a statistically significant difference between different styles in terms of the self-expression score, and a significant difference is observed between the self-expression score of teenagers with informational and avoidant identity style. A search among the studies conducted in this field indicated that no study was found that examined the relationship between self-expression in young people and their identity style. But the evidence shows that there is a relationship between thinking styles and identity styles, and each of the identity styles is predicted by a different profile of the action of the thinking styles.en_US
