Accelerated cellular aging has been reported in some pathological conditions, which can aggravate cellular and tissue dysfunction. Several tudies have shown that chronic inflammation in some may lead to cellular and tissue aging. Since asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease, this study investigated the effect of chronic asthma induction on the expression of aging-related markers in the lung tissue of male rats. Methods:16 male rats were divided into 2 groups including the Control group and Asthmatic group. To induce asthma in rats, animals received intraperitoneally 1 mg Ovalbumin dissolved in solution containing 200 mg AlOH3. After 14 days, the rats exposed to aerosolized albumin (1%) for 30 minutes/each odd day. One day after asthma induction, the rats were sacrificed by using over dose of Ketamine and Xylazin. The lung tissue was sampled to measure the levels of ß-Galactosidase, Klotho, and SOX2 using real-time PCR assay. In addition, IL-1β and NF-kB were measured by ELISA kits. Results: The results of this study showed that asthma induction increased the levels of IL-1ß, NF-kB, and ß-Galactosidase gene expression and decreased the expression of Klotho and Sox2 genes in the lung tissue of male rats.en_US
