Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common diseases in developing countries and are also an important risk factor for other diseases. Given the rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical for physicians to stay up-to-date on treatment options.Due to their anti-inflammatory effects, corticosteroids are used to reduce inflammation in Covid-19. It is important to monitor the effects and prescription dose of corticosteroids due to their use in the treatment of Covid-19. Therefore, we decided to investigate the effects and results of prescribing this drug on covid patients with a history of cardiovascular disease. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of corticosteroid drugs in the treatment of COVID-19 patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases admitted to Shahid Madani Hospital in Tabriz.Method: This study was conducted as a retrospective cross-sectional study for 12 months in Shahid Madani Hospital on 152 patients with cardiovascular disease and covid-19. In this study, patient information including demographic information, underlying disease, medications, hospitalization duration, mortality rate and related information were collected. The results were entered into the SPSS software and the clinical information of the patients was shown descriptively. Spearman tests were used for analytical analysis.Findings: The average age of the patients was 65.85±12.87 years with the majority of males (62.5%). 59.21% of 152 patients have received corticosteroid drugs. Out of 152 patients, 5% needed a ventilator. Conclusion: According to this study, the effect of corticosteroid drugs on patients with a history of cardiovascular disease is related to the amount of dose, number of days receiving the drug, age and underlying disease.en_US
