The study aimed to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of unripe grape juice, specifically resveratrol, in patients with membranous nephropathy or focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. These chronic kidney diseases commonly affect young to middle-aged individuals, and there is currently no definitive cure for these conditions. To address this, the study explored the use of natural complementary and therapeutic approaches, which have recently garnered attention in the field of kidney diseases. The research focused on evaluating the impact of unripe grape juice or resveratrol on these kidney disease. Method: The study employed a double-blind, randomized clinical trial pilot design, and 30 patients with membranous nephropathy or focal segmental glomerulosclerosis were selected to participate. The patients were administered 3.6 grams of unripe grape juice daily for a period of two months. The patients' kidney function was evaluated before and after the intervention using biomarkers and clinical assessments. Additionally, the patients were assessed for underlying diseases and other factors that could potentially influence the intervention's outcomes. The data collected from the patients were analyzed using statistical models, including the Paired T-test, Independent T-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Linear regression, in the SPSS 24 software. Results: The findings of the study revealed a significant improvement in the levels of proteinuria and urea in the treatment group compared to the baseline. Notably, only two of the participating patients were diagnosed with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. The study did not find evidence of the impact of risk factors and intervention factors on the observed results. Furthermore, the patients did not report any adverse effects or intolerance to the treatment during the follow-up and treatment period.en_US
