Obstruction of the lacrimal drainage system (LDS), as a result of insufficient drainage of tears, can lead to intermittent or continuous tearing, which is called "epiphora". The main acquired lacrimal outflow obstructions are due to idiopathic inflammation, fibrosis and Nasolacrimal duct ulcer is the aim of the present study to compare the diagnostic value of MR dacryocystography with and without Valsallo maneuver with dacryoscintigraphy in patients with acquired epiphoria. No similar article was found in the search conducted in reliable databases. Methods and Materials: Among the patients referred to Imam Reza Hospital for imaging due to acquired epiphora, five were included in the study. MR dacryocystography with and without Valsalva maneuver and dacryoscintigraphy were performed in these patients. All patients who agreed to participate in the study were included in the study and were excluded from the study if they did not want. Results: In MR dacryocystography, stenosis/obstruction at the canal level was correctly diagnosed in 3 patients (100%). Two patients with simultaneous stenosis/obstruction at the canalicular level and lacrimal sac were not reported as stenosis/obstruction at the canalicular level in MR dacryocystography. The overall accuracy of MR dacryocystography in showing stenosis/obstruction was 60%.en_US
