Introduction: Nowadays, research in the field of new drugs obtained from natural sources has become important as a way of strategic value [1]. Modern lifestyle, improper use of antibiotics, etc., by disrupting the microbial balance of the body, have become the basis for the emergence of new diseases. In this study, the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effects of porous silica nanoparticles carrying the plant extracts of mountain sage and klepura were investigated to deal with bacterial resistance. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to prepare and evaluate the antibacterial and antifungal effects of porous silica nanoparticles carrying the herbal extracts of Dermeneh and Kalpura.Method and materials: Alcoholic extracts of medicinal plants of Dermene and Kalpura are prepared by maceration method. Porous silica nanoparticles are synthesized and characterized using TEOS silicate precursor and CTAB molecular template. Then plant extracts are loaded into the nanometer pores of nanoparticles. After preparing the culture media, wells are made and the effect of plant extracts and carrier nanoparticles will be checked after 24 hours by measuring the lack of growth halo. To determine the minimum inhibitory concentration of MIC and the minimum lethal concentration of MBC of pathogenic fungi and bacteria, macrodilution and microdilution methods will be used, respectively. Result: The results showed that the essential oil of Kalpura and Dermena has an inhibitory effect only on Salmonella. The maximum diameter of non-growth halo was 22 cm for Salmonella. No inhibitory effect or growth halo was seen on other bacteria.Discussion and conclusion: It is believed that many medicinal plants are promising as natural compounds with potential antibiotic activity as a suitable alternative to common antibiotics that have developed resistance to them.en_US
