Among the metal nanoparticles, silver nanoparticles have been widely investigated due to their distinctive characteristics, such as good electrical conductivity, chemical stability, catalytic and antibacterial activity. The aim of this study is investigation of the cytotoxic effects of green synthesis silver nanoparticles in prostate cancer cell line (PC-3). Materials and Methods: The current research was an experimental study that was conducted in Tabriz city in 2023. In this study, PC-3 cell line was purchased from Pasteur Institute. After cell culture and proliferation, these cells were treated with green silver nanoparticles in the presence of different concentrations, and by checking the MTT test, the right concentration and the right time were obtained. Then, in the desired cells, after treatment with the appropriate concentration and time obtained from the MTT test, the survival and lethality of the cells were checked with Trypan blue exclusion assay. Results: In this study, IC50 of green silver nanoparticles in PC3 cell line was 62.77 (±8.4) μg/ml and R2=0.92. The cell viability of PC3 cells treated with concentrations of 40, 60 and 80 μg/ml of green silver nanoparticles was significantly decreased compared to the control group (P<0.001). The production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) caused by silver nanoparticles (Ag) was significantly increased compared to the control group (P<0.001).en_US
